Story behind the bottle · Carassia Rosé Brut
Carassia Rosé Brut represents the promising 2018 vintage, an exceptional year in Transylvania’s Crisana region. Produced by Carastelec Winery, Romania’s first estate dedicated to sparkling wines, this cuvée stands as a testament to patience, craftsmanship, and terroir expression. It delivers a remarkable balance between structure, freshness, and elegance, demonstrating the potential of Transylvanian vineyards to rival the finest European sparkling wines.
Notes in the glass
Fresh red berries, citrus peel, and hints of white blossom unfold on the nose. On the palate, the wine is lively and well-structured, with fine mousse and delicate minerality. The finish is long, creamy, and refined.
About the winery · Carastelec
Carastelec Sparkling Winery is Romania’s first winery dedicated primarily to crafting sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. Located in the historical Crisana region of Transylvania, one of the country’s oldest wine-growing areas, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision.
The name Carassia and its wines reflect the spirit and uniqueness of their origin — the village of Carastelec — emphasizing the central role of terroir in the winery’s philosophy.
Carassia’s emblem, composed of five interwoven hearts forming a star, symbolizes the five core principles guiding the estate: terroir, grape varieties, technology, time (long lees aging), and love for detail. These values converge in wines that unite finesse, purity, and patience — a hallmark of Carastelec’s sparkling identity.

| Production method | The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal technological maturity, with a natural sugar content of 170–180 g/L. Half of the grapes are gently pressed as whole clusters, while the remaining half are destemmed before fermentation. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal aromas and freshness of the wine. Produced using the traditional bottle fermentation method (Méthode Traditionnelle), the base wine undergoes a second fermentation in bottle, followed by 36 months of lees ageing. Each stage — from first fermentation to disgorgement, bottling, and labelling — is completed at the Carastelec estate. The grapes originate from the Tóka vineyard, cultivated on clay and mica-schist soils, perfectly suited to the cool climate of the Transylvanian plateau. |

🍇 Selection
At Tresmundi, every wine is chosen with the utmost care – guided by the expertise of a certified wine professional with WSET Level 2. With deep knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, and tasting, we ensure that every bottle in our collection meets the highest standards of quality, balance, and character.
We focus on wines that tell a story – whether it’s a hidden gem from a small family estate or a timeless classic from a renowned region. What we offer is more than a drink: it’s an experience.
Food and wine are two of our greatest passions. They are among the richest and most rewarding pleasures in life – and we indulge in them as often as possible. When selecting our producers, we consider not only taste, appearance, or awards, but also their values, traditions, and sense of place. Above all, we value passion and respect for nature and craftsmanship. We make sure that each producer’s philosophy and vision are reflected in every drop.
Our focus lies on small, family-run wineries that work with dedication and heart. Every wine has a story worth telling. You won’t find these bottles in supermarkets – nor in the vast catalogs of large online retailers. Our wines, and the stories they tell, are meant to be discovered and appreciated.
🏡 Storage
For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.
All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.
Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.
📦 Delivery
Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
