The Friza range embodies Carastelec’s playful and innovative spirit. The wine originates from Kiscsere slope near the Carastelec (Kárásztelek) village, where south-facing vineyards grow on clay and mica soils. Vines are 12 years old, trained Guyot mid-cordon at a density of 6,250 plants/ha.

Fermentation is naturally stopped before full completion, and the remaining CO₂ is retained under pressure — creating the gentle, natural sparkle that defines Friza. With residual sugar of 4.58 g/l and acidity of 5.97 g/l, the 2023 vintage achieves perfect balance between freshness and approachability.

The wine opens with fresh aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and red currant, layered with delicate rose petals and mineral tones from its clay-mica soils. On the palate, tangy fruit meets crisp acidity and gentle natural effervescence, creating a lively, uplifting texture. A hint of residual sweetness softens the edges, giving balance and charm. The finish is clean and refreshing, lingering with red-berry brightness and a faint citrus lift that underscores its playful, youthful character.

Pairing: Perfect as an aperitif, or with sushi, fresh salads, and hard cheeses.

Carastelec Sparkling Winery is Romania’s first winery dedicated primarily to crafting sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. Located in the historical Crisana region of Transylvania, one of the country’s oldest wine-growing areas, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision.

The name Carassia and its wines reflect the spirit and uniqueness of their origin — the village of Carastelec — emphasizing the central role of terroir in the winery’s philosophy.

Carassia’s emblem, composed of five interwoven hearts forming a star, symbolizes the five core principles guiding the estate: terroir, grape varieties, technology, time (long lees aging), and love for detail. These values converge in wines that unite finesse, purity, and patience — a hallmark of Carastelec’s sparkling identity.

Production method

Fermentation of the Pinot Noir must is naturally halted before completion. When the process nears its end, the tank valves are closed, and CO₂ remains trapped in the wine. Bottling occurs under pressure to retain the natural effervescence—no external CO₂ added.

The resulting wine shows 1 – 2.5 bar pressure, 4.58 g/l residual sugar, 5.97 g/l acidity, and low alcohol (10.6 % ABV). This careful process yields a fresh, fruity, and naturally sparkling pétillant.

🍇 Selection

At Tresmundi, every wine is chosen with the utmost care – guided by the expertise of a certified wine professional with WSET Level 2. With deep knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, and tasting, we ensure that every bottle in our collection meets the highest standards of quality, balance, and character.

We focus on wines that tell a story – whether it’s a hidden gem from a small family estate or a timeless classic from a renowned region. What we offer is more than a drink: it’s an experience.

Food and wine are two of our greatest passions. They are among the richest and most rewarding pleasures in life – and we indulge in them as often as possible. When selecting our producers, we consider not only taste, appearance, or awards, but also their values, traditions, and sense of place. Above all, we value passion and respect for nature and craftsmanship. We make sure that each producer’s philosophy and vision are reflected in every drop.

Our focus lies on small, family-run wineries that work with dedication and heart. Every wine has a story worth telling. You won’t find these bottles in supermarkets – nor in the vast catalogs of large online retailers. Our wines, and the stories they tell, are meant to be discovered and appreciated.

🏡 Storage

For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.

All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.

Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.

📦 Delivery

Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
