FRIZA is the fun, friendly, and approachable side of Carastelec Winery — a gateway wine inviting both newcomers and enthusiasts to explore the joy of wine. It represents freedom, spontaneity, and the effervescence of life.

The term pétillant (or frizzante) refers to semi-sparkling wines that offer just enough natural carbonation to create a soft, “prickly” sensation on the palate. Unlike fully sparkling wines, these bottles don’t pop dramatically — instead, they reveal a subtle sparkle that enhances fruitiness and freshness.

Carastelec Sparkling Winery is Romania’s first winery dedicated primarily to crafting sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. Located in the historical Crisana region of Transylvania, one of the country’s oldest wine-growing areas, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision.

The name Carassia and its wines reflect the spirit and uniqueness of their origin — the village of Carastelec — emphasizing the central role of terroir in the winery’s philosophy.

Carassia’s emblem, composed of five interwoven hearts forming a star, symbolizes the five core principles guiding the estate: terroir, grape varieties, technology, time (long lees aging), and love for detail. These values converge in wines that unite finesse, purity, and patience — a hallmark of Carastelec’s sparkling identity.

The natural fermentation is deliberately stopped before completion, trapping fine CO₂ bubbles inside the wine. Bottled under pressure to preserve its delicate effervescence, the result is a fruit-forward, gently sparkling wine with 1–2.5 bars of pressure.

Friza White contains no added CO₂ — its effervescence is entirely natural.

This pétillant is crafted to express pure varietal fruit, highlighting honeyed linden blossom, wildflowers, pear, quince, and exotic fruit with mineral undertones. Its balanced sweetness and low alcohol make it refreshing and accessible.

🏡 Storage

For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.

All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.

Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.

📦 Delivery

Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
