Vinca Theresia is named in honor of Maria Theresa, Archduchess of Austria and Grand Princess of Transylvania, who in 1777 ordered the reconstruction of the Catholic Church in Carastelec.

Part of the VINCA range, dedicated to still wines, it carries the symbol of the periwinkle flower (Vinca minor) — a timeless emblem of resilience and renewal. The Latin root vincere (“to conquer”) reflects the vitality and persistence of the vine that overcomes winter’s dormancy and brings life back to the vineyard. Vinca Theresia embodies this spirit — a wine of rebirth, freshness, and quiet strength.

Lime, ginger, honeysuckle, and white peach interplay beautifully with crisp citrus and pear, all wrapped in a clean, mineral finish.

Pairs perfectly with spicy dishes, Asian cuisine, fried foods, fresh salads, and fish. Serve at 8–10 °C.

Carastelec Sparkling Winery is Romania’s first winery dedicated primarily to crafting sparkling and semi-sparkling wines. Located in the historical Crisana region of Transylvania, one of the country’s oldest wine-growing areas, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern precision.

The name Carassia and its wines reflect the spirit and uniqueness of their origin — the village of Carastelec — emphasizing the central role of terroir in the winery’s philosophy.

Carassia’s emblem, composed of five interwoven hearts forming a star, symbolizes the five core principles guiding the estate: terroir, grape varieties, technology, time (long lees aging), and love for detail. These values converge in wines that unite finesse, purity, and patience — a hallmark of Carastelec’s sparkling identity.

Production method

Produced from 100% Rhein Riesling, grown on south-facing slopes in Crisana, northwest Transylvania, at 6250 plants per hectare, trained in Guyot mid-cordon formation.

The clay and mica-schist soils contribute mineral tension, while fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks preserves varietal character. Aged on fine lees for enhanced texture, the wine displays long ageing potential (10–15 years).

For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.

All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.

Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.

📦 Delivery

Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
