This Riserva represents the signature of Tommaso Bojola, a cuvée designed as a modern interpretation of Chianti—structured, long-lived and aromatically layered. The high-altitude southwest-facing vineyards protect the fruit from excessive heat, allowing slow phenolic development. A portion of the grapes is intentionally left to overripen on the vine, enhancing concentration and black fruit, leather, and coffee notes.

Extended maceration and 24 months of oak ageing provide depth, while bottle ageing completes its polished, elegant character.

Chianti Classico Riserva “Tommaso Bojola Castellina” presents in the glass with a deep ruby red that evolves toward garnet with age. The aromatic palette is complex, intense and persistent, revealing black fruits, overripe berries, leather, coffee, liquorice, cinnamon, roasted nuts, almond cake, and a hint of gingerbread. On the palate, the wine is finely structured, full-bodied and very long-lasting, offering elegant tannins, rich polyphenolic depth and a velvety, powerful finish.

Pairing: Ideal with game dishes, roasted meats, rich stews, aged Pecorino, charcuterie, and perfect as a meditative wine after decanting.

Tenute Squarcialupi is led by Tommaso Bojola and his family, who continue a long tradition of viticulture on the historic estates of the influential Squarcialupi family, established in Chianti since the early 1200s. These lands form part of Castellina in Chianti, one of the three original sub-zones of the historic Chianti Classico area, recognized as the world’s first officially delimited wine region in 1716.

Vineyards & Terroir

The estate’s wines originate from some of the oldest vineyards in Castellina, situated at around 600 meters on the southern slopes of the town.

These high-altitude plots yield naturally balanced grapes, producing wines with fresh fruit precision, floral nuances, and a clear expression of the Chianti terroir.

Beyond Chianti Classico, the winery also cultivates a small estate in the Maremma region, providing grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Alicante.

Organic Philosophy & Vineyard Practices

Since 2008, the estate has followed organic viticulture, eliminating chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides.

The focus is placed on careful vineyard management, healthy soils and low-yield, high-quality grape production. From the 2020 vintage onward, all wines have been fully certified organic.

Winemaking Approach

In the cellar, the goal is to highlight the authentic varietal character and the identity of each site.

The estate works with a broad stylistic range, includin wines fermented in amphora, long macerations, wines crafted without added sulfites, cuvées from dried grapes and even traditional-method sparkling wine.
Every wine aims to either convey the classic Chianti Classico profile or express a distinctive, individual style emerging from the estate’s experimentation.

Production method

The harvest begins around mid-October, up to fifteen days later than usual, allowing a portion of the grapes to gently overripen on the vine and concentrate their aromas. Only the finest bunches are hand-selected and collected in small crates to preserve their integrity.

Fermentation takes place directly in rotating barriques, where the skins are repeatedly lifted and immersed, enabling a delicate yet highly effective extraction over an extended forty-day maceration. After the first 8–10 days, all sugars have converted into alcohol, and the free-run wine is separated before the pomace is lightly pressed.

Malolactic fermentation follows for twenty days on fine lees to soften the texture. The wine is then aged for twenty-four months in barriques and tonneaux, refining structure and aromatic depth, before resting for at least twelve additional months in the bottle.

🍇 Selection

At Tresmundi, every wine is chosen with the utmost care – guided by the expertise of a certified wine professional with WSET Level 2. With deep knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, and tasting, we ensure that every bottle in our collection meets the highest standards of quality, balance, and character.

We focus on wines that tell a story – whether it’s a hidden gem from a small family estate or a timeless classic from a renowned region. What we offer is more than a drink: it’s an experience.

Food and wine are two of our greatest passions. They are among the richest and most rewarding pleasures in life – and we indulge in them as often as possible. When selecting our producers, we consider not only taste, appearance, or awards, but also their values, traditions, and sense of place. Above all, we value passion and respect for nature and craftsmanship. We make sure that each producer’s philosophy and vision are reflected in every drop.

Our focus lies on small, family-run wineries that work with dedication and heart. Every wine has a story worth telling. You won’t find these bottles in supermarkets – nor in the vast catalogs of large online retailers. Our wines, and the stories they tell, are meant to be discovered and appreciated.

🏡 Storage

For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.

All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.

Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.

📦 Delivery

Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
