Story behind the bottle · Organic Rugiada
The wine reflects Squarcialupi’s ongoing commitment to expressing their territory through thoughtful experimentation and controlled cellar work. Rugiada brings together high-altitude fruit from Castellina in Chianti and the estate’s long-standing tradition of producing expressive whites within an area primarily known for red wines. It stands as a modern interpretation of Chardonnay in Tuscany, guided by careful craftsmanship and a subtle hand in the cellar.
Notes in the glass
Rugiada Chardonnay presents in the glass with a bright straw-yellow colour. The wine opens with banana, passion fruit, pineapple and subtle acacia and oak notes, followed by peach, yellow apple and delicate mineral tones. On the palate, it shows great structure, balance between acidity and body, and finishes with toasted almond accents that extend its persistence.
Pairing: Ideal with fish dishes, cold cuts, fresh and semi-aged cheeses such as Pecorino, and refined first courses.
About the winery · Squarcialupi
Tenute Squarcialupi is led by Tommaso Bojola and his family, who continue a long tradition of viticulture on the historic estates of the influential Squarcialupi family, established in Chianti since the early 1200s. These lands form part of Castellina in Chianti, one of the three original sub-zones of the historic Chianti Classico area, recognized as the world’s first officially delimited wine region in 1716.
Vineyards & Terroir
The estate’s wines originate from some of the oldest vineyards in Castellina, situated at around 600 meters on the southern slopes of the town.
These high-altitude plots yield naturally balanced grapes, producing wines with fresh fruit precision, floral nuances, and a clear expression of the Chianti terroir.
Beyond Chianti Classico, the winery also cultivates a small estate in the Maremma region, providing grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Alicante.
Organic Philosophy & Vineyard Practices
Since 2008, the estate has followed organic viticulture, eliminating chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides.
The focus is placed on careful vineyard management, healthy soils and low-yield, high-quality grape production. From the 2020 vintage onward, all wines have been fully certified organic.
Winemaking Approach
In the cellar, the goal is to highlight the authentic varietal character and the identity of each site.
The estate works with a broad stylistic range, includin wines fermented in amphora, long macerations, wines crafted without added sulfites, cuvées from dried grapes and even traditional-method sparkling wine.
Every wine aims to either convey the classic Chianti Classico profile or express a distinctive, individual style emerging from the estate’s experimentation.

| Production method | The Chardonnay grapes are handled with great care from harvest, destined for an aromatic cold-maceration style. They undergo an eight-hour cold soak in the press to preserve fragrance before gentle pressing and clarification. Fermentation unfolds slowly in stainless steel at temperatures below 20 °C, maintaining purity and freshness. After 10–15 days, the young wine is transferred to 500-litre tonneaux, where malolactic fermentation takes place on fine lees for around twenty days, adding softness and aromatic complexity. It then rests for four months in oak and completes its refinement with at least two months in bottle, reaching a harmonious balance between freshness and structure. |

🍇 Selection
At Tresmundi, every wine is chosen with the utmost care – guided by the expertise of a certified wine professional with WSET Level 2. With deep knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, and tasting, we ensure that every bottle in our collection meets the highest standards of quality, balance, and character.
We focus on wines that tell a story – whether it’s a hidden gem from a small family estate or a timeless classic from a renowned region. What we offer is more than a drink: it’s an experience.
Food and wine are two of our greatest passions. They are among the richest and most rewarding pleasures in life – and we indulge in them as often as possible. When selecting our producers, we consider not only taste, appearance, or awards, but also their values, traditions, and sense of place. Above all, we value passion and respect for nature and craftsmanship. We make sure that each producer’s philosophy and vision are reflected in every drop.
Our focus lies on small, family-run wineries that work with dedication and heart. Every wine has a story worth telling. You won’t find these bottles in supermarkets – nor in the vast catalogs of large online retailers. Our wines, and the stories they tell, are meant to be discovered and appreciated.
🏡 Storage
For us, every wine tasting is a sensual experience. Proper storage therefore plays a crucial role in preserving quality.
All wines in our selection at Tresmundi are kept in a specially designed wine cellar in Hamburg, maintained with controlled temperature, humidity, and sound insulation.
Bottles are stored horizontally and away from light sources, ensuring the cork remains in contact with the wine to prevent unwanted oxidation. This careful process allows each wine to develop beautifully and reach you in perfect condition.
📦 Delivery
Our wines are shipped in certified DHL packaging designed specifically for safe wine transport (for wine orders only). If your order includes other products, we wrap each bottle securely in bubble wrap to minimize the risk of breakage.
